Will try to answer some questions you may have after doing this fast virtual visit:

HOW DO I GET TO “MoMoPeHo”? There is a regular bus service from Quito to the Hacienda’s gates, going through “Los Bancos”. We will provide you with the required information. It is also possible to make prior arrangements and offer private transportation from and to Quito for a nominal charge. Please note that we do NOT accept guests without prior reservation.

WHAT ABOUT COMMUNICATIONS  AT “MoMoPeHo”?  We have a cellular phone that allows you to receive and make calls within the Country and soon for international long distance calls. Receiving calls is free but there is a charge for outgoing calls. Local TV offers 2 channels so you can follow the World’s News. The local radio stations broadcast Salsa, Merengue and Techno on a regular basis.

ARE THERE AGE LIMITATIONS? No, as long as you are able to walk without any assistance. Of course daily activities are adapted to individual physical abilities. We must insist the children will always be their parents entire responsibility.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?: As little as possible:

CLOTHING: Enough for a daily change. There are laundry facilities should you wish to do it yourself or you can use our laundry service for a nominal charge. We will provide you with the basic equipment needed for walking around (machete, rubber boots, flash light and rain poncho). Do not forget a sun hat, your pyjamas, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shampoo.  In the bathroom you’ll find complimentary towel for your convenience.

MEDICINE: We do have a First Aid Kit, however, make sure you bring you personal medications in sufficient quantity, as well as insect repellent, sunscreen, and specific products. NO ILLEGAL DRUGS are allowed on the Hacienda.

CAMERA: It is a good idea to keep it in a plastic case as a protection against humidity. Make sure you bring along enough film especially for specific equipment (there is no place nearby to buy any), as well as necessary batteries and/or charger (120 V).

MONEY: cash only in small denominations for return transportation, personal expenses while at the hacienda (phone calls, laundry, cigarettes, drinks such as sodas, beer, wine, alcohols). Neither Credit Cards nor Traveler's Cheques are accepted. Since we are NOT an hotel, tips are not compulsory and at your absolute discretion.

MISCELLANEOUS: Your favorite book and/or magazines, playing cards, writing material, binoculars, pocketknife.

WILL I BE AT RISK? This is not a dangerous environment and you always be with one of us to tell you what to do and what to avoid, and how to protect yourself. However, as for any trip, make sure your Travel Insurance is up do date and covers risk activities. Keep in mind that member of our own family, whose ages range goes from 4 to 65 come and visit us regularly from the City.

WHAT LANGUAGE IS SPOKEN? The employees speak Spanish only buy the owners speak and understand enough English to permit basic communication, not technical though. With prior arrangement (and for a charge) we can provide translators in French, German, Italian, Russian etc…

WILL I ENJOY PRIVACY? Hardly because all activities and services are community oriented and we want our guests to be part of it.
