GALAPAGOS MULTISPORTS (MAVERICK): 8 days / 7 nights (Beginning: Sundays) SUN.- FLY TO SAN CRISTOBAL island upon arrival our guide will pick you up and take you to the hotel. In Puerto Baquerizo Moreno we will have Lunch in to local restaurant . Then we will navigate to Kicker Rock - León dormido, an old tuff cone eroded by the ocean and now serves as nesting place for frigate birds, blue footed boobies and nazca (ex masked) boobies, tropic birds and of course this magnificent volcanic formation. We will move on to Punta Estrada and Bahia Divine, to calm shallow water place where rays, mullets and sharks can be seen while kayaking along the rocky coast line and snorkelling if time permits. Visit Puerto Velasco Ibarra , the smallest town in the Galapagos with to population of around 60 people. THU.- Early wake up call, breakfast on board and navigation to Isabela island the largest and one of the youngest in the Galapagos. Puerto Villamil - Isabela island which has the second smallest population in Galapagos with around 1500 inhabitants is still pristine and untouched. to delightful place will be reached by to zodiac ride, tintoreras grotto , small shallow channels in between lava flows with sandy bottom in which we usually find white tiped reef sharks this is also to perfect palce for snorkelling . Isabela also has penguins populations and normally we find them along the coast, after this we come back to the hotel. Lunch at hotel and in the afternoon we will have to walk to the muro de las lagrimas to wall of lava rocks made by inmates from an old penal colony established on the island. To finish our day we can relax on the miles long white sand beach right in town with many shore birds and marine life. Dinner and overnight. Hotel Isabela del Mar / Casa Marita o similar. FRI.- Breakfast at hotel and then we will take to bus ride to Sierra Negra volcano which is still active and in October 2005 it showed us the most recent volcanic eruption in the archipelago. to horseback riding adventure along the crater of the volcano will fulfil every expectation (normally we find giant tortoises on the way). This day we will have to box lunch on the volcano rim and then we start trekking on to trail of lava to volcan Chico to smaller crater of Sierra Negra. We will walk on to large lava flow and fortunately we might see fumaroles and an incredible landscape from the top. Late in the afternoon we will go to our hotel for dinner and overnight. SAT.- Early wake up call and breakfast on board on our way to Santa Cruz Island (with to population of about 15000 has to large variety of sites to visit). From here, we will start biking downhill through El Caserio until we get to El Garrapatero beach and now it is time to swim/snorkel relax and enjoy the beach.Back in Puerto Ayora dinner and overnight . Día 4: Santa Fe Island - Santa Cruz Island.- Departure in fast launch from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno to head for one of the most important islands in the Archipelago: Santa Cruz Island. Before arriving, we will stop at Santa Fe Island. This island has the most beautiful beaches where colonies of sea lions lie basking in the Dom on exceptionally white sand. Here we will have the opportunity to snorkel in quiet, transparent dark blue and turquoise-colored waters. As we snorkel, we will see sharks, rays and marine iguanas as well as blue-footed boobies, the tropicbird, fork-tailed seagulls and other species. At noon, we will reach Puerto Ayora where we will enjoy to well-deserved lunch. In the afternoon, we will take to jeep to the high part of the island to the Primicias Ranch. Our descent will begin at the edge of the main road down to the base of the Ranch on to muddy road good for mountain biking. As we descend, we will pass through to rich farming area and then reach the base of the ranch and be able to see the very famous giant Galapagos turtles in their natural state. After to short rest, we will return to the hotel. B/L/… Día 5: Punta Estrada – Las Grietas - Charles Darwin Station.- After breakfast , we will leave in our sea kayak and go down Ninfas Lake , which borders the coast. We will pass Punta Estrada and continue until Las Grietas. During the trip, we will be able to see sea birds, sea lions and sea iguanas. The trip will end at to beautiful natural pool surrounded by volcanic rock where the crystal-clear turquoise water is good for snorkeling aLung sea lions. This trip takes about 2½ hours. After an interesting sail in the South Pacific, we will reach the island's main dock where our transportation will be waiting to take us to the hotel. At noon, lunch will be in to typical restaurant in the town. In the afternoon, we will take to long, but easy, walk towards the Muro de las Lagrimas. This historical place was build by prisoners from Ecuador's first jail. As we walk to our destination, we will see the Flamingo Lake, the Center where the giant turtles are raised, areas of mangrove trees, and to lookout from which we will be able to see the southern part of the island and the sea where it meets the immense blue sky.
